Our approach

Build & run a studio without problems

1

Set up the studio floor

Plan cable runs, camera positions, prompters and monitors so the floor is safe, tidy and ready before the red light comes on.

2

Operate the camera in motion

Practise pedestal moves, tracking and focus pulls on live rehearsals until your shots stay smooth under pressure.

3

Balance light and sound

Shape key, fill and backlight, mic presenters cleanly and mix audio that stays consistent from the first cue to the last.

Frequently Asked Questions

What studio equipment will I learn to set up?

You will rig pedestals and tripods, prompters, monitors, lighting grids, radio mics and intercom, and learn how to check and strike each item safely.

How is dynamic camera operation taught?

Every learner spends time on a pedestal camera during rehearsals for a mock news bulletin and a live-style show, practising moves, framing and focus on cue.

Do you cover lighting and sound waves in theory?

Yes. Short theory sessions explain colour temperature, inverse square law, frequency and phase, then you apply them straight away on the studio floor.

Is the content relevant to UK broadcasters?

Our workflows follow the practices used in UK television news and live entertainment, including rundowns, cue sheets and gallery talkback etiquette.

Can I bring my own team or newsroom?

Absolutely. We run tailored group days for student crews, community channels and corporate studios. Send us a message to plan one.

What happens after I enquire?

A member of our team replies within two working days with dates, a course outline and a clear price so you can decide with confidence.
