About theatry

A UK resource for people who want to run smooth, high-quality studio productions for television news and live shows.

Our story

Studio production, taught in motion

theatry began with a simple idea: the best way to learn studio production is to stand in a studio. Our courses cover equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, the physics of light and sound waves, and the workflows that keep television news and live shows moving.

Our instructors come from UK broadcasters and live productions. They teach what they use every day, from pedestal moves to gallery talkback, in small groups where everyone gets time on the equipment.

What we stand for

Learn on the floor

Every concept is practised in a working studio, with real cameras, lights and a live gallery.

Calm under pressure

We rehearse live-show timing until crews stay steady when a cue changes at the last second.

Crew first

Great television is a team sport, so we teach clear communication as seriously as technique.
